How a 35yo on $3000 a month spends.

Given the situation, and with the morning off, I do something I never thought I would: I look up ‘bankruptcy’ because I just won’t survive unless I cut expenses. I just know it.

Right now, paying $650 for insurance and for my car’s payment each month seems ridiculous, when I now have time to catch the bus places. It also feels like throwing money down the toilet to pay off my $20,000 credit card loan.

I speak to someone at a debt management agency, and they explain that many people choose bankruptcy so they can have more money in their pockets for living – and rent.

It makes so much sense. But I would lose the car, but then I don’t really need it. Even if I end up eligible for any Centrelink payments, I need to save as much money as I can.
